Domain Issues

For some reason my domain name, www.adammorgansmith.com, is no longer pointing to my smugmug page but is rather going to a google start page (my domain is hosted by google). I haven't changed anything and am not sure why this is happening or how to fix it. I still own the domain and my smugmug account is still pro. Help, please!

Hi, have you got a cname setup to

domains.smugmug.com? If not, do that. If you need help, let us know.

Without having changed anything since I first set this up, the cname was set to www.smugmug.com, has it changed? I set it to domains.smugmug.com, so far it is still pointing to my google start page, but perhaps it needs a while?

Yeah it used to be www.smugmug.com and that *should* still work but we're changing over to domains.smugmug.com - so you made the change, good. Can't explain @ google, why though :( Yes, it can take 24-48 hours for a cname change to populate.

Just in case I haven't done the right thing and I'm not just waiting for the cname to populate, I thought I show a screen cap of the settings to make sure things are correct. I hope I'm not exposing any sensitive information here.

Additionally, If I attempt to go into my control panel and try to set the custom hostname to the existing hostname www.adammorgansmith.com it tells me:

That hostname doesn't appear to be valid. It doesn't resolve to a hostname. See our help section on custom hostnames.

I don't get how, having changed nothing, this just doesn't seem to work anymore.

This happened to me today too. You added your website address to the first column of the last row. This is wrong. You should have added domains.smugmug.com to the middle field of the row and "www" in the first column of the row.

Ah, that seems to have done the trick! Thanks! I haven't dealt with any of this domain hosting stuff since I first bought the domain and set it up to point to smugmug. I'm glad to have it fixed, I just wish I could understand how it suddenly went sideways after changing nothing at all.
