Seattle in November!

Well it did rain a bit...

But I went to Seattle on Nov. 2nd till the 10th. I went up to Vancouver for a quickie to see my friends! I love Seattle! I stayed in Bellevue for the week, and I thought the place was alright! But .. I hit the coffee vegetarian and vegan restaurant motherload!! And there was Vegan donuts!




At my hostel, where I stayed for the Sunday night!

I saw that on the bench..at Pikes Place Marketplace!




And apparently the line to a concert that was going on that night!

The next morning...











I ventured to the very first Starbucks!! WOOOOO!!







It was fun going to the very first one! Of course there were no place to sit down! :huh





I ... also tried the other guys!

I left the Pikes Place Market to wander around the city.



Did that building sink inside?? :scratch

Then the I went to Olympic National Park, the next day, even though I could only go to a couple sites. Boy that was a long drive to and back!!

Then I headed down to the beach in that park. Another long drive!!





..this was where I accidentally left my ISO at 1000 when I could have left it at 640 ish!







The beach was littered with fallen and eaten away trees..



And... I never used my tripod during the trip..







Then after that shot, I drove 5 hours, using the ferry too, back to Bellevue! I got back at 6 PM, too bad trying to get to SEattle to eat was out of the equation! :cry

The following day I went to Alki beach and then to University of Washington! I wanted to check out the graduate school programs there!







I really wished I had a 70-200 with me.. my 24-70 is too short. Or maybe I should invest in the 24-105?? (psst Ted, 5D mk II with 24-105 kit lens!!)



I had another one of the "other" guys..

I went back into Seattle to check out the Art Museum and parked right outside of this...





Uhmmm....hahha!

I left straight to go to University of Washington after the Art museum!














Then when night hit, I went to the Space needle!

Then I went home to rest finally!

Then it was to Vancouver to visit my friends! My GPS stopped working once I crossed the border! It was then tough to find my friend's place once it stopped!

Then we went around Vancouver some more and ate dinner. We had to go all over the place because I am a vegetarian and Vancouver, well according to their navigation skills, was devoid of all the good spots!

On my last full day of vacation we went to the Capilano bridge early in the morning.











We ended my stay in Vancouver with Gelato!

I found a section without eggs! hooray!!

I had to leave my friends to get back to Seattle so I can get through the border in time to get back to Pikes Place by 5 (in the end I wasn't able to)





My GPS... not working!! :cry

Since it took me about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to the border I decided to shoot what was in my car at the time!





I finally got back to my hotel room at 6:50 pm. I missed the Pikes Place market by 2 hours! They closed at 5.

So I packed everything and shot all the areas of my hotel room's mess..









Then after I ate some dinner at a great vegetarian Thai restaurant I went back home.. back to NJ.

It definitely was a fun packed journey! I landed on the ground running after landing from the airport! Running to the hostel to sleep, because it was triple whammy of jet lag, day light savings, and lack of plane sleep! I went to sleep at 8 PM Seattle time. That would be about 11 pm Eastern. So I slept all through the night, but I got out at 7 AM to start exploring!

While it is true that I missed a lot of hidden spots of the north west, I did only have one week to cram everything in. Ideally I would have wanted at the least 2 weeks.

When I come back I will check out more!
