I'm trying to gather ideas as to equipment / camera needs. I went scuba diving on the great mayan reef with a disposable and well, the pics were garbage. I've got a 20d now alot with a steadily growing assortment of lenses, was wondering if its worth it to get the DSLR housing from ikelite (I know of one being sold for ~750 dollars locally) or if I should get a quality P&S
and housing to avoid murpheys law...

Looking for anyone to help point me in the right direction !!

Best Regards
-Jason
My Equipment:
Canon 20d + Grip / Canon 580 EX / Canon 17-40L / Canon 24-105L / Canon 70-200 f2.8 ISL / Mannfrotto 055MF3 Tripod w/329RC4 Head.

Hoping to get back into the art and improve my skills whenever needed.

$750 is a pretty good price. But remember you will need at least one light.
I haven't gotten a housing for my 5d partly because I am nervous about putting it in the water. I've used my wife's canon 710is with the canon housing. That works decently but something with raw and good high ISO capability is what I'm looking for next. If you don't get the housing, look at the g10. The noise level at higher ISOs setting is very good so you can put the ISO high enough to keep a good shutter speed. And the G10 will support external lights.

Thats mainly my concern with the ikelite housing, putting my main camera underwater...

I will have to look into the g10. Anybody else have any good tips?
