So I let the head photographer for my school's paper borrow my 40d this past weekend because his 30d broke and is out being fixed.
Upon receiving it back though I noticed I no longer have the option of RAW or any of those file types. It simply lists the JPEG options and that's it. I need to shoot a game later today and can't get a hold of him, so figured I'd ask here

Is it in one of the Auto modes (Green box, or any of the Icon modes)?

In the Auto (green box) or one of the basic modes (face, running man, mountain, flower, etc) you cannot select RAW.

Go back to P/Av/Tv/M/ADep mode and you can select RAW again.

Geez I'm an idiot haha, I had my mode switch taped to manual, so I wouldn't move it, he took off the tape and changed it and stuck the tape back on.

    Thanks guys
