From an October sunless trip to Superior, Wisconsin.

Handheld...560mm...ISO 1000...f 6.3...1/500

This one was flittering all over the place. Not a very good shot...but I was wondering what is it.

    Nice shots, Ric.
Your second guy is a white-breasted nut hatch. They are interesting birds, in that they dig bug larvae from trees but travel top to bottom to do so. They are often called upside down chickadees for that reason.

That second looks like it's from the nuthatch family, of which I know the Eurasian kind. The White-breasted nuthatch looks like yours. Good capture of it too.

Two nice images Ric. The nuthatch is especially nice, but I like the inclusion of the pine in the eagle pic. It's head just peaking out over the pine needles is nice.

Both are nice. I like the nuthatch because it shows some context--carrying a morsel. If only it were upside down, then it would be a perfect example. You did a nice job of capturing its colors.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
