I just got back from Marc's Prints II workshop at his Santa Barbara office. I arrived five hours late the first day because I was booked on a non-existent flight (damn Travelocity!) and missed the first day's shoot. However, we got more chances to shoot over the weekend, and the print workshop was very informative. Here are some from this weekend:

Surfers at dawn.

Tidepools at sunset.

I learned some new Photoshop tricks, especially in ACR. We also got a chance to do some really big prints.

But the highlight for me was getting Marc's help editing the photos that I brought to the workshop. It made my favorite photos even better.

Post your prints workshop photos here.

It's so awesome to see you shooting, as always Dan! These are great images and Marc helped you make them even better. I love the surfer shot as well. The placement of the sun where they are just screams warmth. thumb.gif

    Hey Dan,

It was a pleasure to meet you. I had a great time on the photo shots as well as Marc's laid back, knowledge packed teaching style that helped all of us in that classroom make our good pictures into fantastic pictures.

It is almost a crime that your boat wreck picture doesn't look a tenth of how stunning that picture really is. You did an amazing job on the print and someday I would love to see it hanging proudly on your wall.

I even snuck a shot of you during one of the photo walksrolleyes1.gif

And a few from our sunrise photowalk:

How how are you always able to take something so perfect like this? Orange sunset, ocean, surfers and birds????? bowdown.gifbowbowdown.gif I think it would be a stunning image with just one of these elements, but you have four!!!!

While I really think the are all great, (I am jealous), I think Dadtwins shot of the surfer on top of the wave at sunset with the four see gulls flying by is fantastic.

If I were you I would be marketing this one to surfing mags and / or surfing related businesses. $$$$$

I totally agree with you about that photo, Wow! And I'm jealous too. But the four sea gulls (or seagulls) are actually four pelicans :D:D:D

i know this is slightly hijacking the tread a bit, but dadwtwins was recently featured in smugmug corner and should provide some background on the man behind the camera.

The surfer shot with the birds of his is not a fluke! Amazing photographer.

I can't wait to see what everyone shot during the those photowalks! Post! :D

    Make us all jealous! mwink.gif

    Trivia question:
How many places can one view a sunrise and a sunset over the ocean in the same city?? I love Santa Barbara, no wonder it is so expensive to live there.iloveyou.gif
