I love to catch the casing after it's ejected. This is my son shooting my Sig P228. Don't tell me his grip isn't right. I know. He's 15. He won't listen to me. :dunno

    Jeff,

Your goal now is get an image with the slide still open, the shell casing being ejected, and showing recoil.

Sam: I was trying to get a muzzle flash, but didn't have the patience to set it up right. Here's as close as I came: trigger still depressed, recoil, and the slide has almost returned.

Heck, I had to go check my grip. Glad this was brought up along with the
good pictures. Next time out I'll be making a little change. Not that I'm
    confessing anything. mwink.gif

I think you'd have a better chance with the muzzle flash in slightly less as-bright-as-it-gets conditions mwink.gif

I like the BW one as well - dunno about his grip, I'd be more use there if he was holding a bow :D

I think you're right. I was hoping for a bit of a puff of smoke anyway! ;-)

I think it would make for a very interesting picture in darker conditions, using a flash and dragging the shutter.

Muzzle flash is hard to time. Here is one I did a few years ago. One shot no practice.

After the first shot, since it was so easy, I thought I would get a few more. Ha, this was the only one, I didn't realize how lucky I was on the first shot.

Hey, Jeff, I like the B&W version best. Correct stance or not, your son is showing concentration. I think the B&W version does a much better job of conveying that concentration and the act of firing the pistol to include the catching of the cartridge case in mid-air.
