Cool link Andy clap.gif I've seen quite a few things at those types of magnification on the net,

very interesting images at that link!

Back a few years ago I had a job where I got to operate a scanning electron
microscope, so I have had the great pleasure of creating images at these
fantastic magnifications. Of course, they were mostly of small parts of
computer tape drive read/write heads which are pretty dull items visually. rolleyes1.gif
Every now and then we would capture an insect and have some
fun looking at it. Looking back I wish I had kept a few prints but I didn't,
I was in R&D so they frowned on information going out the door.

Once you learn all the adjustments (and there are a lot) they are fairly
easy to operate, until you get to high magnifications, then they are
very sensitive to almost anything. The DOF is fantastic. All the output
images are B&W, not that color has any meaning when the structures are
smaller than the wavelength of light.

    lots of fun!
