I got alot of keepers from the game despite the lighting not being as good as our field. Here are a few and you can see the rest at my site www.erbemanphotos.com.

Russ, these are great! Thanks, and I know it was hard to witness how Tech played in Norman...However I was LOVING it mwink.gif I know how it is when your team isn't making any decent plays to capture. Good thing you had OU to take photos of thumb.gif. Seriously, I never expected the outcome, I know it was hard to take and ya'll expected more. Thanks for the photo's.

Are all the photo's posted on your site?

Thanks Brad!! I'm glad you like them. Yes, it was tough to witness a beat down like that!! I don't think anyone expected either team to play like that. On top of the beatdown it was frekin cold as hell!!!! I had to get off the field before halftime because my hands couldn't take it anymore!!! I didn't have any gloves and they were starting to burn!! I took all kind of crap from the fans too because I was wearing a Tech Pullover. It was a pretty miserable night overall!!! I did get some good pics though. I just don't have much to give to the Tech Media dept. I might as well send them all to OU!! Haha, Guess I won't be going to Miami in January:cry I will get to go to Anaheim, CA to shoot the first SX of the season though!!

Those are really nice. I would love to get on the sidelines to shoot a top match-up like #2-TT vs #-5OU.

Don't complain about the lighting. It looks much better than our local high school fields.

Did you shoot these with the Nikkor 70-200 AF-S VR F/2.8,Nikkor AF-S 1.7 teleconverter II combo?
Blessed are those who remain flexible, for they shall not get bent out of shape.

No converter. I choose not to use it at night games because I can no longer use my lens at F/2.8. It goes up to like F/4.5. Then I would have to use a much higher ISO or slower shutter speed and I don't want to do either. We are playing Baylor this Saturday during the day. So, I'll get to use it then.

Lots of nice pics... the only suggestion is one someone gave me about my sports pics and now it seems to bother me about everything else, now that I notice...

In #4, the ground is obviously not level. Maybe it's just me, but the ground ought to be level. The qb looks like he's perfectly upright until you look at the ground and notice he's not. It's a quality shot otherwise, but the ground thing bothers me. ne_nau.gif

I guess I'm also just jealous that I haven't gotten to shoot any Big12 football yet. Course, I'd wanna be in Lawrence if I did. :D

Thanks, I did notice that about the uneven ground. The reasoning is because when we are on the sidelines we have other photographers, cameramen and refs that we share the line with. So when Graham took off running towards the sidelines, everyone kind of leaned out to shoot it. Well, if you don't want someone's camera in the pic, you really have to lean out far. When you do that you can't help but change your shooting angle, thus giving you the angle in question. So, that's my story and I'm stickin to it. Haha thanks for the advise though. thumb.gif

Oh, I believe ya... I have to share a line with other photogs at MLS games (probably not as many, but still)... Probably why I use the straighten tool in Lightroom2 to level that stuff out... :D

Just a thought. Certainly don't want to sound like I think I know everything... because I know I don't...
