Anyone try the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 Macro?

According the the fancy tool DP review has it's the sharpest 70-200 out there.

The two things Tamron doesn't have for this lens: fast motor and IS/VR/OS. BUT it still appears to offer the best image.

I have had the Nikon mount version since July. I really like it quite a bit. It is very sharp, light, and focuses very close (32in I think). The tripod mount is sometimes in the way for handholding. It does focus a bit slower than the Nikon 80-200 Af-D lens, and sometimes it seems to pick a further subject first before picking the right focus target, but that may be "pilot error" as well. I'm happy with it, but if I were a Canon guy like you, I'd look real hard at the 70-200 f4 IS lens. I think it is a similar price and not such a beast to handle. And with all of the higher ISO camera bodies around, f4 would probably be sufficient.

Here is my earlier thread with some pics.

And another pics for you at f2.8.

I already have the Canon 2.8, But I like to try other lenses. My friend has the f4 non-IS.

I wish it wasn't so addicting.
