Turkey Day!
Here's just one of the many shots I took in my very own backyard on Nov 26.
This was the first time in the 35 years we have lived at this address to have seen wild turkeys. There were two of them roaming and pecking about the yard for a couple of hours this morning.
This shot was taken with my Nikon D200 and Sigma 70-300mm zoom tele.
Settings: S=1/200, A=f4
Maybe not such an uncommon sight, but here in Teaneck, NJ we don't get to see wild turkey very often.

We used to live in Teaneck and I never saw wild turkeys! I wonder where they came from?
My mom, who lives out on the island, has wild turkeys wandering around all the time. I got to see them, but I couldn't get a good photo (I got about 3 of the turkeys in a distance).

I think they do live in some of the wooded areas of Teaneck. We live only about 1/4mi from the railroad, and maybe they live in the brush that buffers it.
It was really interesting, and gave me a good opportunity to use my new Sigma 70-300mm tele.
Being the day before Thanksgiving made it all the more special. Good thing there aren't any hungry people in my neighborhood <g>

It's not what you look at that matters: Its what you see!
