your missing on focus a little, maybe needs a little more iso too..?

if it were me i would shoot both these again and merge them together to have the lighted cup with the smoke trail.....IMO....

now im only one opinion, everyone else seems to be on vacation right now and im sure more will be coming...

IMO, that looks much better... (thats how i imagined it)

    except some points...

maybe the iso bump up was not a good idea...
your over exposing the flame now and still have way too much noise.
use noise reduction in-camera if you have it...
do bump iso back down to 100...
and maybe try an external light source on your subject to help with your noise issue... soft lighted lamp will do...

the other issue that comes to my mind is you might want to use rule of thirds in your composition, and if you are going to add the corner
of the table in your composition maybe not have it so close to the edge of the frame...like bring your glass closer to the edge...

now this is all in my opinion, im just hoping my suggestions spark your own ideas upthumb.gif

I appreciate you taking the time to look and give me inspiration. I had something like this in mind, but didn't think I could pull it off. I know I have a long way to go with shot, but its the journey that you learn from. I am gonna reshoot it again during daylight hours.

the way you captuered this smoke in the first set is beautiful, try to get something like this again but without the noise....
