The setup is fairly simple. I clipped a small 2"x2" picture of Saturn from one of my Astronomy catalogs and placed it behind a water drop on a leaf. The image is a focus stack of 4 shots to get the water drop and image of Saturn both in focus.
I'm not sure who was the first to come up with these refraction shots but, I was inspired by Brian (AKA: LordV). You may want to look at some of his refraction shots for proper samples of what can be done and how outstandingly beautiful they can be.
Perhaps Brian would be kind enough to put me to shame and post a sample of his here?
