Here is a photo of a sun pillar taken May 10th on Long Beach Island just before sunrise. Any comments are appreciated.

I wound up on a website with all these names for different sun stuff, totally amazing. I'm not sure I've seen a sun pillar before though! I've seen a sun dog, a moon dog, those little rainbow patches out from the sun (short attention span, I can't remember the proper name right now).
But I have seen, but not photographed a green flash!

My wife and I spent a long weekend on LBI and I took this my last day on the island. I had decided not to try to get sunrise photos that morning but still was up before the sun. When I saw this from the hotel window I was amazed. I grabbed my camera and headed for the balcony. I have seen sun dogs before, but have only read about green flashes.
Marvlous pic Stan. The bird in flight is the cherry on top. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comment! I took many pictures that morning trying to capture a bird sized correctly and at the right place.
