Where to print really large canvas?

Hi all,

I've received a request from a client to have a couple of my images blown up on canvas and I need help finding a (reputable) printer that will print them for me. They can either be online operation or one that is physically located in your local town that also can help me with shipping in the States. I'm not looking for cheap, I'm looking for quality.

Why not use smugmug? I would love to, but my clients wants it quite large and I want to retain my 2:3 ratio. Unless I'm missing something, the largest that I can do through smugmug (at that ratio) is 24x36 which is too small. My local printers also cannot go larger than that.

I know that Photo2Canvas will print up to 43x58 (which is around the size they are looking for) but I would have to crop my photo which will take away from the integrity of these particular images. Has anyone ordered from them before?

Can anyone help me? I would hate to have to choose between losing the much need profits from such a big sale or compromising my work.

Cheers,
Dave

OK, a further search came across Canvas On Demand. Looks like I could get a 40x60. Anyone ordered from them before?

Imagekind does canvas - http://www.imagekind.com/Default.aspx and they also seem to cut to whatever the dimensions that your images is (a huge complaint I have with smug as they have "fixed" sizes). Imagekind also has the mounts if the canvas isn't to big and they can wrap around, or you can just order the canvas rolled in a tube.

I have not yet ordered from them myself but am working on a few that I want to get my wife for xmas, and they seem to have a recent reputation.

I've used Simply Canvas (www.simplycanvas.com) for some very large canvas work and have been pleased. They can print up to 60" x 100". They frequently run special offers so I would check their site to see what specials they are currently running.

I'll second the endorsement of Simply Canvas - they do nice work and I've used them several times for larger prints.

Yes to Simply Canvas! Their customer service rocks and the three canvases I got from them were gorgeous! My largest was 18x24, but as stated they do much, much larger. thumb.gif I'll definitely use them again.
