Showing up on the stage...

I am still working through thousands of images from the last many months, but I thought I'd start with faces. I've been working in China for the last 14 months and might be here for the next several years. My day job is consulting and it's mainly in boring offices, could be anywhere sort of places. So, I try my best to see local neighbourhoods when I have the chance.

Thanks Tom, I enjoy spending time in neighbourhoods and just observing people. These were all close in shots with good eye contact and in the case of the kids, the parents were joining in the fun, just out of the shot.

Nice series of some interesting faces.

A little more light in the eyes of that last one and you would have had a real winner.

I don't have the right tools with me at the moment, but I did a quick rework of the boy.

This was taken in an extremely tight alleyway off a busy shopping street, close to a larger Hutong. There were three boys, all playing and the portraits were when they were literally climbing on me. The lens was a 24-70 2.8 on a D300. I tend to work in aperture priority or manual. I'll post some Hutong photo's over time. Here's the alleyway.
