OK...I am new but NOT to the search function! :scratch Many searches later and much mind numbing reading leads me to conclude that I am not searching in the right area. :rolleyes Where can I find info on the "Daily Picture Club"? and how do I become part of it and where do I post my "Daily"? These and many more questions to be asked if someone :dunno could point me in the direction of the directions!!!!
thanks

The daily photo club is part of SmugMug and you can find it here:
http://www.smugmug.com/community/DailyPhotos/
To join you must have a smugmug account. You can then join the daily photos club (don't totally remember how now, but I don't remember it being too hard ) You then make a new gallery and (if I'm not mistaken), click on "customize"- a button at the bottom of a gallery thumb nail. In customize there will be a prompt asking if you would like to affiliate the gallery with a community that you're a member of on SM (and you select the DP community). After that it's all about posting shots and sharing with others
As a note, the daily community rocks, and I wish I had more time and bandwidth to participate like I used to. I hope to pick it up again once I'm in a more internet friendly local!
All the best!

I started doing this Jan 2006 and I've shot and posted something almost every day since then (with a gap of a few months earlier this year when work got a little too crazy). When I had stopped shooting, it was Matt Pilsner ang Hillary Shemin got me shooting dailies again
Credit goes to Sebastian Horsche for starting the group. When I started shooting these shots, there were only a handful of daily shooters: DoctorIT, Vanessa Naylon, Rutt, Miles Boyer, Rick Orrell, and Vandana (and others that I'm forgetting). And some others who have joined the group have been doing this for longer than I have - and found the Daily Photos group a good place for sharing shots and support. There are now dozens and dozens in the group. The community is a very friendly place to post shots with lots of happy comments - we probably err on the side of praise for all shots rather than heavy constructive criticism.
Some folks create a gallery for the whole year (like mine), others do a gallery for each month. The only real rule - shoot something every day. And no more than one shot a day posted.
Join us! Shooting each and every day does wonders for your creativity - and is great therapy too. Although it does become a daily obsession too!

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.
