Hi Y'all,

Its nice having the Viera Wetlands a 10 minute druve from the house. When I get up in the morn I check out the weather and if the weather is good I drive down there around 7 AM, shoot for a couple of hours, drive home, pick up a few bagels and then have breakfast with Linda.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice routine you've got there Harry. Love the crane. They are arriving in AZ as we speak, and I'm gonna try and get out to see them one of these weekends.

Thanks Dan. I'm going to Bosque next week and that was a hard one to explain to Linda. She asked me what there was to shoot at Bosque and I said "sandhill cranes". She said "we have sandhill cranes on our front lawn."

It sure is nice to have easy quick access to a good bird shooting hot spot. It's 20' off my patio to the boat and less than 10 minutes to the osprey nest and a bit longer to several island rookeries. ahh we are spoiled living in Florida. Keep an eye out for those 'gators, sharks, snakes, fire ants and near sighted old folks behind the wheel. :D

Nice set of pics Harry. Ever get tired of the same old place? The birds probably know you by first name by now. rolleyes1.gif

Two great bifs and I love the expressions you captured with the red shouldered hawk and the anhinga. As far as explaining why you must go to Bosque, tell her it's all about the light and locale. Sure, you have sandies in your front yard, but the light and geography are different. It makes all the difference in the world. At least this is what I tell my wife and I am only traveling in the big state of Texas. :D

Very nice set, Harry. I enjoyed all of them.
The timing on the coot was very good. When they "run" on the water they move very fast and soon it's over. I've never managed to get a good snap of them on the run.

We definitely are lucky Mike. I never get tired of going down to the wetlands. I see something new or different on just about every visit.

I do feel the urge for other locations though. That urge is sending me to Bosque this weekend.
