Three foot powder day yesterday at Loveland Basin ski area in Colorado.
Was lucky enough to meet up with a friend who *always* dresses for the camera, so pulled it out and shot him. Rip em apart please....

Nice shots but this just reminds that we have NO snow here in Oregon.:(: Okay 3" but nothing in the forecast for the next week.

They seem a little underexposed to me. His face seems to almost dissapear into the jacket. Flat light like this is tough. I'm not sure how close you were or what your settings were. I'd try pushing it more or add a flash if you're close to your subject.

it's not the size of the lens that matters... It's how you focus it.

Thanks for the hint! Yeah, it looks a little underexposed, I shot EV+1 and pushed another +1 exposure in Lightroom but it needs even more. A flash would probably come in handy - might have to buy one :) I was relatively close to the guy, the shot is at 43mm on a 1.6x crop body, not cropped. I was about 5 meters from him.

... but yeah, now that you got my attention to it, a flash would definitely help. Tough situation though, don't know if Canon's 580EX is fully weather/water proof, and if it is even enough for a situation like that.
