Shoot and burn?

Hi all:

I wasn't familiar with the term until I read a friend's recent posting:

Now that I think about it though, I'm guessing a wedding I attended last year was shot by somebody like this, as he was posting his full-sized images on Phanfare for purchase by friends and family (so he wasn't take a cut of the prints/products). Although I do think he at least culled out some of the duplicate shots -- it wasn't just a straight dump from card to Phanfare.

Anyways though, I'm wondering what you think of the article. Oscar is interested as well, so I'm sending him a link here. He's a SmugMug user, actually, so maybe he'll join in the discussion.

I like it. It is basic business 101. You will hear a lot more complaining in the coming year as the economy makes headlines. Business owners that aren't good business people will suffer and complain about those who know how to survive and prosper. Whether anyone likes it or not, bad times weed out the weak.
