“The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live.”
One day, I started writing, not knowing that I had chained myself for life to a noble but merciless master. When God hands you a gift, he also hands you a whip; and the whip is intended solely for self-flagellation...I'm here alone in my dark madness, all by myself with my deck of cards --- and, of course, the whip God gave me." Truman Capote
Oh my gosh -I am so excited! I can't believe that my totally chance leaves capture got noticed among such amazing entries - I'm beside myself here!!!! Wow - and this means I get to join the cool kids and be a Smuggie now too!
I'd like to thank the acad... Oh, ok, maybe not :giggle
Kidding and total shock aside, I really DO want to say some pretty humungous thank yous to this community which has put up with my blethering and total doofus n00bness as I have some fun while trying to build my skills. I started listing individually the folks who've been especially generous with their guidance, but then I realised I'd actually be making a list of just about everybody who's ever posted in the challenges forum, so if you're reading this, take it as read I mean YOU, more sincerely than you can begin to imagine.
Thanks for the many votes for my picture and congratulations to Divamum for the winning pic!
