I did some photos of karate students this fall. One of the mom's said she loved my work and approached me about doing photos for her husband's clinic website. They are very interested in working with me, and will probably hire me in January. They want a headshot of the Dr., a photo of him with a "client", and a few photos of the facility. She's designing the site with stock photos, and will be able to give me a good idea of what look they are going for as well as exactly how many shots.

So.... I'm trying to decide if I add up my hourly rate for a session plus my rate for high res files, and maybe a little extra for commercial use, and quote a total for that. OR do I give a completely different kind of rate for this. I've never done exactly this kind work before. I did an online catalog for a student run business at Stanford about 8 years ago, a handful of weddings and events, but mostly I do portraits. Obviously they've been to my site, seen my work, and like my style. But I lack experience. Thoughts?

Yes, I know I'll need a contract that spells out everyone's expectations. I know there will be time involved in processing and dealing with the client after the photos are taken.
