Here are a couple of shots I took Thanksgiving morning...the light is broken up smoke from a fire being used to burn leaves... What do you think?

I really like the first one... Nice...

Awesome light ! Great job on these ! I see some noise in the photos
is your ISO on auto ? Also don't rule out B/W as there is alot of tonal
variations in these photos, just add a little contrast boost to the B/W
    and they will work well.

    Take care,

The first one is really cool. Nice exposure and contrast!

On another note I love the rays of light. I'll go with Dwayne and say these could make some very cool b&w as well.

    Cheers

Now I think about it Dave it is funny lol. But I like to help and give tips
were I can. Even know my approach to photography is straight up
shooting, I like to keep updated on all digital technics. So when someone
mentions tone mapping or masks to me I am not standing there scratching
    my head.

nice job. I like the first one and the last one. the second one has a bit too much contrast for me.

    Keep shooting!

There you go, The first and the last look great B/W. The second one
is a tad to dark which makes you loose some of the mid tones and
    details in the shadows.
