Has anyone had any luck getting smugmug to work with OS X's rss screensaver? I can get it to display small pictures but not full screen high res pics.

    I was looking for an OS X screensaver that would properly support MediaRSS feeds a while back, with no success.

    Apparently OS X's new Quartz Composer supposedly makes it somewhat easy to make your own screensavers, and even steal the RSS-grabbing portion of the built-in RSS screensaver for your own uses:

    Hrm, upon a closer read it doesn't look like you'd necessarily be able to pluck out something useful, like say the "Large" version of your photos from the SmugMug feed.

    Oh well. Hopefully some OS X developer will start using SmugMug and want to start seeing his/her photos in a screensaver.

    *Bump*

    This is especially ironic since everybody I met at SmugMug HQ uses a Mac.

    I guess they're more web developers than OS X app devs, but still...

    On the other hand, I guess when they want to see their photos they just look around the office at the huge wall/door-sized prints hanging all over the place.

    Still, photo screensavers are nice when they can display things like your Recent Galleries/Photos feed, etc. -- Phanfare does this right, but alas, only for Windows. (Another great Windows app w/ MediaRSS, SmugMug, Phanfare, etc support -> John's Background Switcher. He's a Mac user too, develops his app with Parallels. I just bugged him about there not being an OS X version.)

    It's weird that nobody at SmugMug HQ cares about this. Oh I know -- they're so busy their screens are never idle. :-}
