I donated a print of this shot for a chartity auction last week and it seemed to do very well... but I was curious... is there anyway to get rid of the annoying blue light at the top of the center building? I spent about 30 minutes with patch, clone etc. trying to diffuse the glow. The whole sign is burnt.. I just wish I could get them to turn it off..

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

If you took that light out, then I would be wondering where the large blue wash of light on the water was coming from.

You could try duping the layer, using quick-mask to mask away everything but the area in question, and then do some curves work, maybe on the blue channel to tone it down, or maybe play with the layer modes, I forget what they're called exactly, but where it says multiply, darken, lighten, etc.

Actually, Steve C. explained it better here.

    just trying to help..ne_nau.gif

It was faster to remove the frigging light than to go through explaining various options
Btw, David, my first attempt was exactly quickmask and all the blending modes - we think alike. But it turned out they do nothing in this case since the source is totally burnt out. So I resorted to the ole' gud clone stamp - et voila
