Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.
Why do people post their equipment in their sig. Isn't it kind of like bragging? That having been said...
Canon 40d Gripped (x2), Rebel (Original), Canon 70-200 f/2.8 USM L, Canon 300 f/4, Tamron 28-75 f/2.8, Canon 50mm f/1.8, Canon 17-55 f/3.5-5.6, ThinkTank Airport TakeOff
I've been meaning to do this project. It would be really handy. thanks for posting this
Height - makes very low level stuff very difficult if trying to get down to eye level with subject - or when resting lens/ camera on same surface as subject.
Size ... re disturbing surrounding environment / foliage /- esp in confined spaces.
Focussing if using manual focus - the norm with macro.
Presumably user'd be able to get some 'modelling' by covering appropriate regions / areas?
Re alternative matls
Plastic mixing bowl, lined with ali foil would be cheaper, lighter and more reflective ... and easier, less dangerous to cut / work.
Plastic pipe fittings or cardboard tube for inner ... esp as this is lined/covered with reflective matl anyway.
Various other minor points / workflow issues also come to mind ...
