Pacific NW in b/w

I've been revisiting some of my shots from my trip out the the Pacific Northwest and have given a lot of them the black and white treatment. Here are a few. Comments and suggestions welcomed. Thanks for looking!

    Perfect choice for B/W in photo 4 Bryan, great job ! The B/W really
    brings out the texture in the wood.

    VERY nice conversions. I'm with Dwayne on the texture of the wood in #4, very nice.

    Hey, I recognize those beaches! The first shot is my favorite, the clouds and the "grit" come out well in your conversion. The vingette effect on #2 is pretty cool too.

    It's great that you can see in B&W, I'm pretty much "B&W-blind" when I take photos.
