grebe at last light
got a brief sun break late yesterday afternoon, so i went to the park to try to get some shots, but the clouds moved in before i could get much, and then the light went away... i was on my way back to the car, a little miffed at having got "skunked", when this little pied-billed grebe popped up not 30 feet from shore and just sorta sat there. he turned his head this way and that, and when he turned to face the last feeble rays of the sun, i snapped 3 quick shots. the light was way too dim for good results with a 400, and i know this is a bit noisy, but dang it, i just love that pale, ruddy glow on this little guy...

Very nice image ... and I agree that Maestro makes a good point, the reflection would have been the cherry on the sundae!
