We scheduled this for 3, but they had something come up and couldn['t make it until 4:40 pm. At this time of year it's dark enough here to turn on your headlights driving about 5:15. :huh

It was late enough that shooting wide open at f4 on a 70-200f4L IS and iso 400-800, I could only get 1/20 - 1/60 sec shutter. Thank goodness for IS. I was a bit, ummm, unprepared. It was a PITA adjusting flash power so they didn't look TOO flashed. I ended up not even charging except for prints since this was literally a 15 minute shoot.

Any and all C and C welcome.... Oh, these are for their Christmas cards, hence the cheesy posing. :deal

I like all of these. I have to get my skills up to this level. How are you able to get the focus so clear??? Can't be only lens, can it?

Also, #2 and #5 require horizon adjustment. Otherwise, amazing job!

Those look great! Colors are wonderful.

Only one little thing...the tree is growing out of her head in 3 and 4.

Thanks guys for taking time to comment! clap.gif

I agree about the leaning background. The sad part is I was well aware of it shooting and thought (I know better than to think) I had it level. Gotta love slopes! And honestly, I just miffed up on the tree 11doh.gif

Bob, I prefer doing them after the harsh overhead light is passed too, but not this late. Some are at +2/3 EV. I'm not sturdy enough to handhold 1/20s at more than 40mm or so.

WV, as far as the focus being clear, I think the good bokeh of the 70-200f4L IS makes them look sharper than they are. Atv 100% you can see a hint of motion blur from lens shake/slow shutter speeds. Also, I always use a single focus point right over what I want sharpest when conditions allow. I'm not big on focus then recomposing unless mandatory. The focal point isn't linear across the lens. It's not as noticeable on crop cams, but it's there if you move much even if distance stays the same.

Thanks again guys. Much appreciated. bowdown.gif
