Canvasbacks (Mostly)
Here some images of some canvasbacks that I photographed after work one day. I must have looked funny in a suit running after ducks periodically squatting. All are from the same day except the juvenile (I think) which was shot on a different, cloudy day. The images are from one of the Las Colinas ponds in the Irving, Texas area.
This last shows a canvasback cavorting with lesser scaups.

Thanks Dan. I'm glad that I am not the only one running around in a suit chasing birds. And you are correct. A lesser scaup is in that last image.

That is a nice thing about living here but you do have to travel quite a long ways to see the different species. Oh and the suit part isn't part of my regular birding attire.

Thanks DsrtVW. This particular pond is narrow and not that long so they can't get too far away from you unless they pick up and fly away.

Las Colinas was my old stomping grounds. I used to have an office in Williams Square. I loved living in the metroplex, it was an awesome experience. Thinking back to all the strange people that visited the mustangs I doubt anyone thought twice about your fancy photographer outfit.
Have fun,
Phil

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
