In the old days *cough*cough* the drive in theatres were very popular,
but now that we have the mod cons of video and DVD players,
hooked up to Surround Sounds Systems, and nowadays LDC or Plasma TV's.
The comfort of just staying home is much nicer and cheaper
Besides the toilets are way cleaner at home
In the very near future the kids of today will not have a clue what a Drive In actually was ......kinda sad hu?
I like your B&W conversions on these, you should save them for historical value, might come in handy some day.
Again please don't encourage people to break the law by Trespassing.
Thanks for sharing ....... Skippy

I love these shots - very well done. I grew up going to drive in movies with my parents. The original Star Wars movies was my favorite growing up and I saw it for the first time at a drive-in. It really is too bad that they are going away. They provide a unique movie watching experience that no home theater system could ever hope to reproduce. It's not even close in my mind.
Luckily - at least here in the US - there are some of these still running. There are two functioning drive-ins near my town and I have had the distinct pleasure of introducing my kids to this type of entertainment......and guess what.......they LOVE it.
Thanks Dugmar for this thread and your photos - they are wonderful and I really enjoyed them. Post more if you have them...
