    I think the light on these is really grabbing my attention. It looks slow and from the side, which really illuminates the leaves.

    I wish the sky wasn't so blown out in the second because I see some great potential in the composition with all the layers. Still, it's a difficult time of day to shoot.

    Hmm, for blown-out skies usually the best advise is to go back later when the light is better (sunrise, sunset) and see what you find then. Otherwise you can re-compose the image and re-shoot. That's part of the fun of landscapes I think... getting outside and trying to pin down the perfect combination of angle, weather, and light. :D
