So This was the 12th one of these I have done in the last 6 years.
This one was at the Long Beach Terrace theater.
I never have had the ability to shoot still's as I am running a center of house long lens camera. 48 songs and 4 comedy act's in 12hrs of straight shooting, all in HD. Funny thing is, the whole show from end to end is in Vietnamese.
This time I set up the D3 with the 50mm 1.8 next to my camera and would just reach over when I could and click off a few.
Sure wish I could have had the long lens to shoot it properly.
Set the camera in auto ISO, Shutter speed between 1/60 and 1/125 @ f2.8
ISO ranged between 200 and 1250, depending on the center weight metering.
Then set compensation to -2 stops to count for the spot lights.

    Thanks for the comments guy's.

Just pursue your dreams and do what you love king.
I started in this business when I was in the 8th grade running mic cables for my church and editing buy my junior year of High School.
Now all I do is shoot video for work and stills for fun, and a little extra income, besides the love of it.

I think the best thing in my life besides my family is my work.
I'm always saying "I Love my Job". What makes it even better is being freelance.
    Take care.
