It's an interesting shot, but IMO it lacks "context"; maybe a wider angle catching the stream bank (assuming that was the context).

I kind of like the lack of context. I have no idea if this is a landscape or a macro and that's what's so awesome about it.

I really like it's composition. The contrast in textures between one side and the other is flawless IMO. And I love that it's not just straight across horizontal as well. I think it works amazingly.
