No, I'm not still there. Wish I was. It was just a weekend trip.
I'm hurrying to get all my pictures posted before Harry and Russ (Riddim_Maker) get back and make my pictures look pitiful. :cry

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

It was good to meet you, and looking forward to seeing your shots, Louis.

I just got back from your favorite place, the Salton Sea, but there was no way I could get as close to the snow geese (or any other birds) there as you did at Bosque. I even dressed up in one of those porto-blinds. It freaked out the egrets. --- John

Thanks a bunch, Harry. 5,000 captures ought to keep you out of trouble for a few weeks. Can't wait to see what you got.

BTW, I was fortunate to attend a talk given by the head biologist at Bosque. Learned all sorts of interesting stuff, most of which you probably already know. I was surprised to learn that snow geese have to rest four or five days to recover from just one day of flying. So each hour spent eating is real important to them. Turns out that just taking off expends several eating hours worth of energy right there. That really brought home the importance of treading lightly around them.
