The other day I found this little lilly pond and was again (as always) struck by the way the light plays with the blooms. I always feel this type of scene is good exp. practice as well ?? :wow :D

Hope you agree

A wider view. I think the light got pretty good aim :thumb

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

So, these were the first pictures I saw of yours and they are amazing. I really enjoy plant life, day or night, close-up or far away! I like photographing pretty much anything. My mother actually liked a lot of my flowers so much that she just recently went out and bought a vertical frame that holds 6 4x6 horizontal pics she had the hardest time picking only 6! She made me feel so good! So, I am asking a lot of people but I am curious what you do for a living, if photography give me some 411! I want to be a photgrapher but have no clue where to start! I really want to start seeling some of my photographs in matted picture frames. I look forward to your response! And your pics are awesome! (BTW my favorite one is that 1st one, I love the lighting and the crisp color!)

1st thank you very much for those nice & positive comments thumb.gif

I am not now nor have ever been a professional photographer. I am however an avid photographer off and on with some 40 + yrs exp. (yeah ya read that write :D)

Where to start ....well your excitement and your presence here is certainly a great start! There are many members here that can and do offer great help.
I notice from your profile that you are a student, so I guess the best tip I could pass on right now is from my biggest mistake.
When I was a student I did not take advantage of all that was offered me to learn this art form, and in so doing it has been a struggle for me to improve all my life, honest.
You have most certainly heard this type of stuff before (because it's true). Without that foundation (schooling) everything is harder.
    Hope this helps?
Glad your here look forward to seeing more of your images as well as showing you more of mine thumb.gif

Yea...that is one thing that I have promised my family, is that I am going to graduate from college. I am half way there. I will be a Junior this Fall! I finally found my niche with photography, I took Intro. to Photography last semester and I am taking advanced photography this coming semester. I am sure I will learn a lot of things in that class but it is also interesting to me to learn other peoples techniques and take in their advice also. I get my love of photography from my Grandfather and my father. But anyways, I look forwardto seeing more of your work!!!!! Thanks for the advice!

    I second the second.

First humor I have done all day, in days.

I like them all, but especially the second one.
