Replace video preview image = Slow load times

I've noticed when I replace a video preview image for my HD videos with an image that's 1280 x 720 in resolution, the load times for those pages get mighty slow. And even more so when replacing a preview image with the new FullHD video res at 1920 x 1080.

It seems the issue is that the browser is loading the image at full res every time it is accessed. It's of course better after you have visited the page & come back since the image gets cached, but if it's slow on my 16Mbps cable connection, it's gotta be dog slow for many others with a slower connection.

Anyways, just wanted to pass that along.

P.S. Why yes I have made the image's quality as low as it can go on export. Thanks for asking. :D

All of them basically (site is in sig), but this one the most because it's in "FullHD" or 1920 x 1080 res.

Yeah and try it with your nickname.smugmug and see how much faster it loads, with the turbocharged Akamai goodness.

Yeah, it does seem faster. Did you empty your cache or use another browser so its a cold start? Also, when is that sweet sweet speed boost coming to custom domain names?? ETA of course. ;)
