Thank you for terrible Christmas Cards!

I ordered Christmas Cards through SmugMug, they just arrived. There were two surprises.

1. It came with envelopes (this is really nice I did not expect it).

2. I'm sorry to say that, but these are NOT Cards, these are photos printed on longer paper. Each comes with KODAK watermark on the back (which would be ok) and what is much worse - huge black printed timestamp across the whole back.

Thank you very much for useless cards and wasted money, how do you expect me to write personal note on the back of each card?

Ouch - sorry Jiri - I'm sorry you found our cards to be terrible! We've had these very common 4x8 photo cards now for 2 years - and we try to be up front about the photo paper they are printed on http://www.smugmug.com/prints/photo-greeting-cards

Our 5x7 Cards are really cards, press printed, and there's room for your personal hand written note. More:

No need to be upset in the least - we guarantee everything at SmugMug, unconditionally!

We'll be happy to refund your card order if you like, just holler to our help desk with the order # for your 4x8 order, and we'll refund it completely and fully - we just need to get a snap shot of the destroyed 4x8 cards - you can email that to us as well. How to reach us: http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal

Sorry again, but let's fix this asap for you :D

    thank you for quick response

it's really not the photo paper (tiny watermark is really not a big deal, I'm not that picky - well my GF would say something else if you would ask her), the really big surprise was the printed date/time/smugmug in the middle of the back - does it really have to be there, why it is not on a side?

no need for refund, you spent time and material to print these, I just wish I would see on smugmug site a comment about how the back of each card looks like during the order, to be honest i expected true cards (the same material as folded cards).

now it's really too late for me to order new cards and send them to my family in Europe ;-(

    thank you

OK so sorry! We try to say that on our info pages, Jiri - 'photographic paper' :(

I'm sorry about the backprinting control numbers. I don't think there's anything that can be done, but I'll check anyhow!

not sure if there is an easy answer for this .... if I buy folded cards today with fastest shipping, when do you think I can receive them - I know the printing does not take 2 minutes ;-)

    thank you

yes I can see it there ....

actually I'm kinda glad it did not go through. I see a problem with one of the photos - the bottom part is BLACK. It almost looks like it died during processing of the photo. I am 100% this black part was not there while I was designing the card.

    any idea?
