Anything in between Pocket Wizard and Cactus Triggers?

Hi all,

As the subject states, I have Cactus triggers atm and I'd like something a bit more reliable. I'm happy to pay more for better triggers but I can't afford to go the PW route and the Radio poppers Jr probably wont hit the UK shores for a while yet. So, does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for a good reliable trigger system?

The main thing here is that it's not for studio lights, it's for flashguns so I need them to reliably sync up to 250th and be available to buy from the UK :)

Cheers all
Ian

Have heard good things about the Alienbees Cybersync's. Never tried them myself though.

Radiopoppers, Elinchrom skyports, aforementioned alienbees, and several others. Checkout B&H Photo.

Thanks guys. I've had a good look around (found this site if it helps anyone in the same boat as myself http://www.diyphotography.net/exploring-small-strobes-going-wireless) and I think I'll have to resign myself to staying with the Cactus system for a while longer. I've ordered a couple extra triggers. Radiopoppers Jr might be announced today but even so it wont hit Europe for (ever??) and the Alien Bees stuff just isn't that cost effctive if you're buying outside of the US, which is a shame.

The best alternative for me I think is the Skyports. I was very tempted to go for the transmitter/receiver set then just get slave hotshoes for my other two flashes, but then I'm still relying on slaves until I can get two more receivers and I wont be able to afford it for a while. So, until I can save up for those skyports or PWs I'll stick with the cactus. As long as the batteries are ok I always get the 250th sync so I'll hope that one of the two I've ordered works :/

    Cheers
