Kudos to Calumet

Some time ago I was looking for a special purpose tripod and I found the features I wanted in a new Manfrotto tripod. Searching the Internet I found the tripod was available through Amazon but originating from Calumet Photographic:

Unfortunately, Amazon had somehow cross-referenced the name of the correct tripod I wanted with the ordering data from a different tripod. When the box arrived from Calumet it contained the wrong product. Rats!

I used Amazon to try to contact Calumet to try to correct the situation, and a day later I was left waiting. I contacted Calumet directly by e-mail and in less than a day I had a response from "Michelle" explaining what had happened and how Calumet would correct the problem. 2 (working) days later I had a return shipping label from Calumet, printed with the return merchandise information so I didn't have to add anything. I dropped the box with the return label off at a local UPS terminal and within 4 days I now have the correct tripod which looks to be great for my application.

Anybody can make a mistake and I'm sure Amazon makes their share, but when a class act like Calumet comes through for the customer, like they did for me, I just want to spread the word what a wonderful organization Calumet is and to recommend them to all who will listen.

I used Calumet for the first time a couple of months ago and was completely wowed with their service. I just wish we had a brick-n-mortar store in the area so that I could take advantage of their classes and seminars!
