DSS #14 - My last round judging

Yep, you read that right. After this round, I will no longer be a judge in the regular rounds (I may still judge in the Mega-Challenges).

So, what does that mean? Well, from now on, the two judges selecting the finalists will consist of the winner from the previous round (same as before) and a guest judge. That means YOU. Yep, by entering these challenges you are also submitting yourself to spend a round sitting things out and then judging. You don't have to give critiques, but it is always helpful.

Guest judges will be selected at random and I would like to line up a few rounds at a time (at least). First, I would like to get a list of willing volunteers for this task in our Challenge community. I would like a pool of enthusiastic people to choose from, and don't want to burden anyone with judging too frequently (of course, if you win frequently, that will happen naturally

).

So...add yourself in this thread if you are willing to be a guest judge in future rounds. It really is an extremely worthwhile experience and your opinion is ALWAYS VALID NO MATTER WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE OR SKILL LEVEL. So come on...let's get this next phase rolling! :barb

I think that makes perfect sense. I do hope that you will get to come and play in the rounds now Emily! You deserve the break! Of coarse then if you win you would have to find a replacement for the Mega challenge.

Anyway...I'm in of coarse!

Can I say... "yes I will, but not for a while"? I have to sit the next one out anyway, so while I'm happy to jump in as a judge again in a few months, I't'd be grand not to have to miss another round TOO soon!

Also, a thought: Emily, might it be possible to encourage some of the folks who frequent the rest of the forum but who don't necessarily participate in the challenges to act as guests occasionally? (Perhaps spread the word in the other forums too?) Just a thought - if it won't work, no harm no foul, just thought i"d throw it out there as an idea!

As I've looked through past entries, I've often thought 'Wow, I'm so glad I don't have to judge this round...'! I think judging is tougher than entering, but even so, I am willing to serve occasionally. I just ask that you wait until after January to pick me. (January is a killer month for me at work.)
