This thread about last night's super-sized moon intrigued me enough to get out and take a shot at it. Conditions were hazy, but the capture came out better than I expected.

Canon 40D, 400 F5.6 lens, 2-TC1.4X extenders (784mm total). 100% crop.

Anybody else get any shots of last night's moon?

Cheers,

Great shot Joel. Will the phenomenon still exist tonight?

Yeah, apparently so. According to the article, the moon is the closest it's been to earth in 15 years. Although tonight's moon might be a day off of being full. Not clear if it will be noticeable. I'd like to get some more shots myself over the next week or so of the various phases. But we're in for a spate of really bad weather for the next week. :cry

    Thanks, Dan.

    Howdy Joel,

WOWSER, I have to say that is one of the nicest, clearest Moon shots I've seen.

    Very nicely done.

Very nice shot. This moon was very bright. I was in the woods backpacking/camping and I did not even need a flashlight.
