Beautiful shot, Mike. I know there are probably hundreds of little beaches like this on Mauii, but I have a sense of deja vu on this one. Perhaps somewhere on that long road around the northwest portion of the island between the airport and Kapalua.

    Cheers,

Joel, The name of this beach really is "Secret Beach" but it's very well known and used for weddings a lot. It's on the South side of the island just below Makena.

Well, at least I was close. I had the right island. rolleyes1.gif

Anyway, great stuff. Keep 'em coming and don't be afraid to post them a little larger. mwink.gif

Well done. I like the colors and the contrast seems to be right on.

    Thanks again.

Joel, sorry about the small size. I hate small landscapes too but I have made a conscious effort to reduce the sizes I post anymore because so many of my shots have been blogged and emailed all over the Internet without links or credits. Rather than quit posting, I decided to at least make them a little less useful. rolleyes1.gif

Beautiful! Love the soft pastel colors, the palm trees, and the motion of the waves. Very nicely balanced exposure as well.

Nope, you have to use a Nikon for a shot like this. wings.gif

Just kidding of course - this was shot with a D300 ISO 200, 1/6 @f18 at the crack of dawn.

I like the contrast between the pastel colors of the sky and the dark colors and details of the rocks and bushes. Also beautifully composed with all of the components of a tropical beach thumb.gif As a personal preference, the wave motion is kind of stuck between smooth fluidity and "freeze frame" ne_nau.gif Then again I could just be jealous because you have liquid water this time of year headscratch.gif
