This shroon is the same color and texture, winter and summer; 4-6" across.

I like the more winter look ones ... forgive me I am fascinated with snow :D
I wonder where these things get their colour from?

Can you eat this type or not? I have no clue how you tell what you can and cannot eat when it comes to fungi.

    Thanks for sharing Willard3 thumb.gif .... Skippy :D

I eat mushrooms I pick but the best rule I know is not to eat gilled mushrooms as this excludes the ones that will kill you. I would not eat this one as it is gilled.....it is also tough as shoe leather.

Shroons, including this one, are saprophytic and get their color from what they are eating at the time.
