Every year for the holidays, the Alberta Legislature in Edmonton puts on a great light show (as well as serves hot chocolate & has choirs sing). I went last week when it was a beautiful -1C. It is now not -1C...more like between -35C and -22C :cry, but the lights are still lovely.

Looking North from the steps of the Legislature toward downtown Edmonton. In the summer the big area where the ice sculptures are is a reflecting pool.

Hey, Angela, you should have contacted me. I have never been to the legislature in the winter! It would have been fun to shoot together. (Or maybe I was in sunny Cal thenheadscratch.gif ). Nice photos.

You're right it is no pleasant -1C now. Freezing, freezing and freezing!

Maybe it will warm up before the lights are gone, and I will make the time to go.ne_nau.gif

Thanks for your kind comments everyone. It is a beautiful site.

Ann, if it warms up enough that you want to venture forward to the Leg. fire me off an email. It would be great to meet and shoot with you. The temperature seems to be making some movement upwards clap.gif

Whoa, that's an awesome building! I like these shots, very colorful and I love the snow.

One thing I've noticed with night shots (of skylines or other places with artificial lights) is they tend to come out warmer than they should, you might want to try cooling down the white balance and see if you like the results better.
