Do you mean risers? A party store/rental may have them...but then nearly every school music room has a set, and many church choir practice rooms do as well...maybe you can borrow?

Thank you for replying, I am not sure if they are called risers - but worth a shot. I need to do a year photo of 100 pupils, without the panning camera (mines a canon 5d with 24 - 105 lens) so I need to position them all in about 3 or 4 rows and stand well back!

    Helen,

Remember to also suitably elevate yourself and the camera with respect to the students.

    How are you handling lighting?

why nt use the schools auditorium? If the seats are done on a slope then it would work wonders....

If your town has a theater in which choral groups regularly perform then look there......also is there a college near by that has a choir.....look there as these places will usually own their risers and may not charge you much to rent.....

Lastly a movie theater with the pupils seated in the middle and you on the stage just in front of screen to elevate you a bit.........talk with manager, who may donate or ask for a small donation from you for electricity and his/her time...............

    Thank you
    Hi Guys

Thank you for your inspirational ideas! I am not sure I can take out the whole year to another location, but worth asking. The school only has 350 pupils in total, so they dont have an auditorium. I have a friend who is an ex funeral director and knows loads of vicars, I shall ask him for choral risers.
