Credit Card Information Retention

Hey guys - question -

This is so far a very part time thing for me but the customers I've had are afraid of purchasing prints online in fear of credit card or personal (shipping) information being compromised.

Can anyone tell me how long this information is retained, if at all? Can I tell them that the information is only active for that specific transaction?

Is this documented somewhere and I've missed it?
