Has anyone else had a look at the SeaDragon iPhone app? It's from Microsoft Labs. I see a LOT of potential for this app for viewing large numbers of images. It would be really sweet if the SmugMug feeds could be made to work with SeaDragon. We'd have a really nice platform for viewing Galleries on the iPhone.
If you try the app, try looking at the Asia vacation and navigate the group of images. Zoom, pan, watch the slideshow, etc. Now imagine it is a large SmugMug gallery.
The maps view is pretty cool too. The more I poke at the app the more I like.

I'm not sure what you mean by crushes a lot?
Most people on the iTunes store are giving the app bad reviews. They say that the app has no purpose.
The thing is, it is a demo app. It shows some of the things the Silverlight technology can do. It's up to the developers to take advantage of what the technology can do to create something useful. I can see potential here because the demo as it stands seems to be a really nice tool for navigating and viewing large numbers of images on an iPhone.
I think this has really lot of angles and possibilities and I totally agree that this is up to developers what they can do with it....
I have few after-three-beers ideas...
1. I really like newspaper style, I don't know why, I just do. With this you can mimic newspaper on PC/iPhone and quickly zoom in.
2. if somebody creates on-a-fly PDF to this format coverter, then it's amazing way how to read PDF on iPhone
3. i work with some biiiiiig data models, erWin suuuuucks if you need to simply look at the model, this can be great way how to look at large data models zoooom in and out in no time although this is probably not the best use because things like data models are not really pictures and can be easily rendered other ways.
This would be really nice to show off my 40MP panoramic allowing people to zoom into a photo etc.
I actually just searched dgrin to find out if this was being supported.
