This was taken in the town of Klamath Falls OR during a pretty good Thunder Storm. We should not have been where we were...

    Welcome thumb.gif

JMO but think you should crop the bottom, about up to the water tower looking thingy. Darken sky to bring out lightning strike.

Then enter in current challange call it say "One Strike" :D

Please refer to my sig. as to what qualifies my opinion :D

It looks as if you were almost expecting it to strike there and then..

BTW, what is this small glare on the fight of the bolt target?
And one thing that looks kinda unnatural - why is the middle part blown out? ne_nau.gif

    Awesome catch!thumb.gif

The lightning was striking about once every 30 seconds, so I just kept clicking away. I didn't even know I had anything until I brought it home and viewed them on the computer screen. It has been cropped a little. The strike is more on the right hand side of the shot in the actual photo.

I don't know what the bright light is on the right side of the strike, but I have the photo I snapped right before and after and it is not there. I am confident it has something to do with the energy from the strike.

If you mean the middle part of the lightning bolt - you got me. I think it is simply the background where the sun is going down. When I zoom in on that part you can follow the bolt almost all the way, but you lose it right in the middle for a bit.

    Thanks for looking.

WOW, you did well to even get a shot. I have experimented with lightning shots and its pretty hard, unless there's alot and you are willing to maybe use extended exposures and tripods etc. I agree with bfjr, i would darken it just a little bit.

Oh and someone once told me that the rule with lightning is f8, sit and wait...:giggle, not sure if that will help you in future but anyway.

    I like this shot alot.thumb.gif
