Of all the flower images I have ever shot,
I have never been able to capture a rose image that appeals to me.
I tried this;
no go,
This week, I tried these;
Something with a hint of echoes
Something with a hint of contrast in the white
And then, just, something ...
They just keep eluding me - ARGH!!!!
Where am I going wrong here????
*sigh*

Hmmmmmmm I can't even grow a rose let alone shoot one
Calling all ROSE Shooters, please help Kevin.
Having seen all the magnificent shots you have shown us in the past,
I wouldn't be too worried about Rose's, I'd be happy to achieve what you have with your other beautiful shots.
I hope someone can help you out Kevin,
I'm not a Rose shooter ... sorry .... Skippy

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
you can see I'm not much of a rose shooter either. But I'll throw out my $0.02. (The top of the walls in this room are yellowish and the bottom is maroon which gives any pictures taken with ambient light in this room a weird orange cast.)
Nothing in the top picture is in focus. You need to get something in focus. You'll need to change aperture in order to get more depth of field. Or you can try focus stacking. There is an exercise on it here (I learned about focus stacking this morning following through the artist in residence links to Brian Valentine's SmugMug site and his tutorials.)
The rest of the pictures have cluttered backgrounds that detract from the image. I wrote a thread about it here.
